2024 Election: Mt Alexander key details
I know Council elections are something most people don’t think about much. So here’s a summary of what you need to know if you’re registered in Mt Alexander. Wards have changed, only 3 wards have to vote, you need to submit your vote by 25th of October.

- You only vote for the candidates in the ward you are registered
- Wards have changed, and there is only one Councillor per ward
- Only vote if you are in Coliban, Campbells Creek & Calder wards
- You must send your vote by 6pm Friday 25th October

5 wards are uncontested, there’s only one candidate, so you don’t need to vote.
In Coliban, Campbells Creek & Calder there are 2-3 candidates so you must vote.
You must vote by 6pm Friday 25th October
Voting by mail and you will receive your ballot paper in your letter box from 7 October. You only vote in the Ward in which you are registered.
Key dates
- 7 Oct: Ballot papers sent by mail
- 15 Oct: If you don’t receive your ballot in the mail visit the election office.
- 7 - 25 Oct: vote and return ballot by mail or election office
- 25 Oct: Ballots must be sent by 6pm
- 15 Nov: Results declared

- 9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday 9 September - 23 October
- 9 am - 8 pm, Thursday 24 October
- 9 am - 6 pm, Friday 25 October
Blind or low vision
If you are blind or have low vision, you can register to get your ballot pack in large print or braille. Registrations are open until 5 pm on Tuesday 10 September. Call 03 8620 1314 to register.
